Right after Mayor Sara Duterte declared her withdrawal from 2022 mayoral race in Davao City this afternoon, a video footage of Senator Bong Go surfaced in mainstream social media channels teary-eyed and have spoken about his fate as a candidate for vice president in next year’s election.
Speaking in front of a crowd at Malasakit Center in Antipolo City, the senator made hints that he might be withdrawing his COC in the next few days.
Go talked about the substitution in election and how dirty politics is. He also mentioned that the recent events was beyond his control and he needs to lay-low after 38 days of being a vice presidential candidate.
“Gustuhin ko mang mag-silbi sa inyo bilang inyong bise-presidente dahil sa kagustuhan ng ating mahal na Pangulo, kailangan ko pong umiwas. Malalaman niyo lang po yan sa darating na araw… 38 days na po akong kandidato bilang bise-presidente. Malalaman niyo lang po sa susunod na oras kung meron changes po sa mga kakandidato. At kung kailangan kong umiwas, wala po akong magagawa. Pero, isa lang po ang maipapangako ko sa inyo. Kahit kapitan, kahit na ordinaryong mamamayan po ako, patuloy po akong magseserbisyo sa aking kapwa Pilipino,” said Go in his emotional speech.
