Aligned with President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s economic transformation agenda, a specialized skills training program is empowering underprivileged individuals in Metro Clark.
The Clark Development Corporation (CDC), Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), and Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), in collaboration with the World Link Institute for Technical Studies, Inc. (WLITSI), offer training in hilot and wellness massage, nail care, shielded metal arc welding, industrial sewing machine operation, and housekeeping.
Atty. Agnes VST Devanadera, CDC’s President and CEO, stressed the importance of vocational skills training and workforce expansion in driving economic transformation under the Marcos Administration.
“President Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos Jr. actively champions this skills training program, considering it a top administration priority to empower fellow Filipinos through skills development,” Atty. Devanadera said.
She echoed that, with a favorable investment climate and a highly skilled workforce, the Philippines is well-positioned to exceed its pre-pandemic economic growth.
According to the Philippine Statistics Authority, the Philippine economy recorded 4.3% growth in Q2 2023. All major economic sectors, including agriculture, forestry, fishing, industry, and services, posted positive growth figures at 0.2%, 2.1%, and 6%, respectively.
It can be recalled that the CDC, in partnership with Aderans Philippines Inc. and Starboard Manpower Services, Inc., successfully conducted a 30-day wig-making training program recently, with 37 participants completing it.
