Dear SV, a public affairs and service show that features stories of regular Filipinos experiencing obstacles and struggles, offering hope and joy to individuals and communities nationwide, currently airs every Saturday night at 11:30 p.m. on GMA Kapuso.

The show is hosted by Sam Verzosa, a Tutok to Win partylist representative, CEO and Co-Founder of Frontrow International, President of Maserati Philippines, Director for Charity of Miss Universe Philippines, and co-founder of Frontrow Cares. Dear SV provides individuals and families with a means of earning a living through school scholarships, as well as employment and financial aid.

Sam, who is also the founder of the Batang Sampaloc Scholarship Foundation Inc., speaks from the heart because he knows what it is like to live below one’s means and how difficult it is to make a respectable life. Sam was able to immerse himself and feel what underprivileged families face through his show. There are certain people and stories that he will never forget since they taught him life lessons and opened his eyes, such as the story of 86-year old Lola Fedeng, who works as a pedicab driver despite her old age.

“‘Dear SV’ was written as a tribute to Sam’s father, who passed away earlier this year.” The senior Verzosa was completely behind his eldest son in all of his attempts. His father constantly said encouraging things to him, but he also said things that challenged him and his siblings.

He claims that he keeps the legacy of his late father by helping the helpless.

That’s why he continues to share his blessings. Plus, he always reminds himself with his dad’s advice: Never forget to give back.

By sharing the stories of Lola Fedeng, 12-year old twins selling lumpia in jeepneys, a devoted father teaching his children under a lamp post, a cyclist with clubfoot, a former snatcher turned honest worker, residents of Taguig Tenement, a paralyzed plastic vendor, a deaf and mute basketball player, a fish vendor supporting his daughter with cerebral palsy, a person who is sight-challenged but nevertheless determined to make it in life, hard-working farmers in Palawan, a girls’ basketball team and a struggling single mom supporting her son diagnosed with hydrocephalus, and many more, SV was able to use his platform to inspire others never to lose hope.

Sam also hopes to inspire others to do what he has done so that many lives might be changed by the kindness of many individuals.

“I’m even more excited about our new home network. This will provide us with additional opportunities to share more inspiring stories with many Filipinos due to the network’s increased reach,” Sam told the press during the Dear SV Pasasalamat Press Conference.

Dear SV highlights not only individuals but also the communities that hurdle all the hardships to improve and uplift their conditions in life.

“My advocacy is to help the helpless who work hard to improve their standard of living. And that’s exactly what Dear SV stands for,” concludes Sam.

Dear SV airs every Saturday at 11:30 PM on GMA.

Dear SV also airs on GMA Kapuso’s YouTube Channel.
