In our current and technology-driven environment, the search for standard and quality on everyday necessities, that we should not take for granted, continues. We have the right to know and be assured that everything served at our table and personal products we use are safe and have undergone quality testing.

According to an online article published by DevelopmentAid in January of this year by Daniil Filipenco, three million people in the Philippines put their lives in danger every day by using unsafe water sources. Another 7 million people lack access to improved sanitation and sanitation services.

While the Philippine economy is expanding rapidly, it still faces significant challenges in terms of access to water and sanitation.

During the pandemic, local markets and home-made businesses sprouted, resulting in increased consumer traffic and growth in the country’s SMEs sector, which provided income for small-scale business owners. The increase in consumer products is a positive sign for the economy, but it has also increased the risk of product safety as more products are consumed and used without proper quality testing.

To ensure that product quality standards are met, the FDA, DOH, and local governments, among others, require standard procedures and are subject to special laws and regulations before they are sold on the market. Basic labeling requirements; open-date markings; nutrition and health claims; mandatory warnings and advisory statements; and other consumer awareness and protection regulations must be included.

Qualibet Testing Services Corporation, led by chemist Pinky Pe Tobiano, advocates for accurate results and quality testing of food, water, pharmaceuticals, and cosmetics, among other things.

Qualibet has provided accurate and precise results to the companies they have assisted, whether government bodies, large corporations, or SMEs, by analyzing their water, cosmetics, pharmaceutical, and food products for FDA registration so that they can commercially market their products with a seal of safety.

“Partnering with Qualibet has brought us and our residences great satisfaction and peace of mind,” shared Ambassador Joey Antonio of Century Properties.

Likewise, Peter Mar, Operations Manager, of Monde M. Y. San Corporation shared the same sentiment, “We know Pinky Tobiano and her passion for excellence, because of Qualibet’s reliable analyses, we were able to make prompt and informed decisions business-wise.”

Qualibet recently completed a historic acquisition agreement with Bureau Veritas Asure Quality (BVAQ), a world leader in quality testing and certification. BVAQ is a French-owned company and a major player in the global testing and certification industry. The corporation has made a name for itself as a world leader in quality testing and has acquired revenue of EUR 4.8 billion in the last year.

Through the acquisition, Qualibet-BVAQ is now in the spotlight on the international quality testing stage, opening up countless opportunities for the Filipino-ran business in motion, particularly given that the microbiology testing market is anticipated to experience significant growth over the coming few years.

“The future of quality testing and certification in the next few years will be more focused towards quality control, reducing errors, eliminating unnecessary testing and focusing on the challenges of global compliance as more products are being launched and introduced at a rapid rate, ” said Tobiano.

Tobiano is confident that the French corporation will continue Qualibet’s advocacy of providing accurate results. It will also raise the quality of the testing process given BVAQ’s infrastructure and its plan to invest in modern and sophisticated laboratory equipment that will test more samples in all of its branches worldwide.

“Qualibet has a proven track record of ensuring consumers that the food and water they expend are safe through laboratory testing. Through the alliance, I look forward to BVAQ continuing and even leveling up what Qualibet has started in the past years,” enthused Tobiano, who is now part of the Board of Directors of Qualibet-BVAQ.

With BVAQ’s support, Qualibet’s experience and track record will be strengthened even more as they expand their infrastructure, geographic reach, and manpower.

Tobiano founded Qualibet in 2006, and it has been running a successful testing business with a cutting-edge laboratory since then. Customers’ trust has been earned across a wide range of industries including food, water sanitation, pharmaceutical, veterinary, agricultural, cosmetics, research, and hospital institutions.

Qualibet is ultimately committed to the preservation of Mother Nature. They adhere to the following commitments: recycling; water circulation system for their quality control division; odor and dust collection system adaptation; and compliance with DENR regulations.

On her recent international feat, Ms. Tobiano added, “Work hard for your dream. There is no shortcut to hard work and building a good network. Your network is your net worth.  Always instill the value of gratitude in everything you do. A grateful heart is a magnet for miracles. With the partnership of BVAQ, a Filipina chemist is now a part of a conglomerate. A Filipino chemist is not only a signature, we are now an autograph.”
