If you’re following and watching WandaVision on Disney+, this article may contain spoilers that you don’t want to know until you’ve seen the new episode. But if you don’t care about any of the spoilers, then read on.
Don’t say we didn’t warn you.
Set in the 80’s, the Wanda and Vision sitcom took a serious tone when Wanda Maximoff and Vision almost squared off because of the mystery surrounding the whole Westview setup. Vision is slowly discovering the true nature of their family and neighbors’ lives until they were interrupted by the arrival of a very special surprise character just before the end of the episode.
But we’ll not thread on that and we’ll let the excitement grow on you until you’ve watched episode 5, “On A Very Special Episode”.
Instead we’ll talk about what fans have been arguing since Avengers: Endgame. Who’s strongest? Scarlet Witch or Captain Marvel?
Well, In WandaVision episode 5, Kevin Feige may have once again confirmed that Scarlet Witch – or Wanda, is the most powerful character in the MCU, which means even more than Brie Larson’s Captain Marvel.
We all know that Scarlet Witch was capable of taking down Thanos in Avengers: Endgame.
In one of the most best scenes of Endgame, Scarlet Witch appeared right in front of Thanos as the genocidal warlord was taking charge in the battle. “You took everything from me,” said Wanda which was answered by Thanos with, “I don’t even know who you are.” “You will,” said the vengeful Avenger. And Maximoff puts Thanos in a surprise predicament.
Scarlet Witch almost single-handedly killed the Mad Titan until he called for reinforcement from the Black Order and blow Wanda aside.
This scene from the movie was confirmed during the conversation between FBI Agent Jimmy Woo, Darcy Lewis, and Monica Rambeau.
While the three were discussing whether the costumes and set props from Wanda and Vision were real, Jimmy began referencing the battle between the Avengers and Thanos.
The conversation started when Jimmy mentioned Wanda’s power inside Westview.
Jimmy: But Wanda manipulates people’s perception and makes them hallucinate.
Darcy: Yeah that’s her whole bag. If all the sets and props and wardrobe were solid matter, that would mean she’s wielding an insane amount of power.
Jimmy: Far exceeding anything she’d displayed in the past.
Monica: Uh, she could have taken out Thanos on her own if he hadn’t initiated a blitz. I mean, nobody else came close.
Jimmy: Well, I’d argue that Captain Marvel came close.
Monica pretends she didn’t hear it.
Darcy: Her powers came from an Infinity Stone, too, right?
Monica: We are not talking about her. We are talking about Wanda.
And that happened. So, what do you think?
