Table Tennis ‘Girl Powers’ graces TOPS ‘Usapang Sports’

THE Philippine Table Tennis Federation (PTTF) ‘Girl Powers’ will be the main agenda as four of the Top 5 players in the women’s team, led by teen phenom Kheith Rhynne Cruz, are invited to the Tabloids Organization in Philippine Sports (TOPS) ‘Usapang Sports’ on Thursday, Feb. 10 via Zoom.

At the age of 15, Palarong Pambansa and Batang Pinoy champion Cruz is pulling in local and international competitions. He got the No.1 ranking in the PH Team after leading the National Ranking Championship held recently at the Calma Table Tennis Center in Pateros.

Cruz, also known by his Chinese name ‘Ke Yingying’, will be joined at the weekly sports forum at 10:00 am and sponsored by the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC), Games and Amusements Board (GAB), and Pagcor, with No.2 Angel Joyce Laude, No.3 Emy Rose Dael and No.4 Jannah Romero, as well as PTTF president and former National mentor Ting Ledesma.

According to Ledesma, the Philippine Team was given 10 slots (five for women and five for men) to play in the table tennis event of the biennial meet set for May 12-27 in Hanoi.

Ledesma also stressed that the men’s team, which is also currently training in the ‘bubble’ in Baguio City, is also full and only small changes will be needed at the end of the National final elimination.

TOPS president Maribeth Repizo-Merana of Pilipino Star Ngayon called on officials, members, and the entire sports community to watch and join the forum that can also be watched live streaming on the TOPS official Facebook page and YouTube.
