Star-studded cast in PHILRACOM Classic Race on Sunday in Metro Turf

THREE of the country’s leading thoroughbreds renew rivalry on Sunday (July 11) in the Philracom Classic Race at the Metro Manila Turf Club in Malvar, Batangas.

Philracom Chairman’s Cup champion Boss Emong, Commissioner’s Cup winner Super Swerte and Presidential Gold Cup titlist Pangalusian Island banner the a-list lineup for the 2,000 meter race.

Also out to show might are Triple Crown sweeper Heneral Kalentong, Sky Shot and a slew of other equally impressive starters  Son Also Rises, Goldsmith, Weather Lang, Shanghai Grey, Big Lagoon, Rogelio and pandau Ballet.

“Good condition naman po siya and bibigyan namin ng magandang laban at karera ang mga bayang karerista. Makakapanuod sila ulit ng magandang laban. Ibibigay namin ang lahat, estratehiya at galing ng team HB, at siyempre, panalangin sa Dakilang Lumikha na maging maayos ang aking mga kabayo anuman ang maging resulta.. at kung kami ay papalarin, kalahati ng aming premyo ay ido-donate ko sa mga nahihirapan sa evacuation area dahil sa pagaalburoto ng Bulkan Taal,” said Boss Emong owner Mr. Edward Vincent Diokno.

Meanwhile, Mr. Sandy Javier stated, “I still believe that Super Swerte is the better horse. As a matter of fact, we lost last time out via a photo finish. Rest assured that Super Swerte is well prepared for this renewal of rivalries and the racing fans won’t be disappointed with what they will witness on Sunday.”

“Alam naman natin na tinalo si Pangalusian Island nina Super Swerte at Boss Emong nitong nakaraang dalawang laban, pero strong third tayo ika nga. Sinisigurado ko sa bayang karerista na mabibigyan pa rin natin sila ng magandang laban,” quipped Wilbert Tan.

The winner of the event gets to pocket the lion’s share of the purse at P 1.2 million, second placer gets P 400,000, third P 200,000, fourth P 100,000, fifth P 60,000 and sixth P 40,000.

Also on tap during this red-letter day is the PHILRACOM 3YO Sprint Race to be contested over 1000m with a purse of P 1.5-million with P 900,000 going to the winner.

Speedsters Whateverwilbewilbe, Bravo, Paruparung Bukid, Tan Goal Too, Hook On D Run, Liquid Gold, Chrome Platter and Cat Bell will be gunning to burn the tracks in this event.

Runners-up get P 300,000 for second, P 150,000 for third, P 75,000 for fourth, fifth gets P 45,000 and sixth P 30,000.
