SLP produces champion, brand ambassadors

TYR Philippines named six young swimmers affiliated with the Swimming League Philippines (SLP) as its newest brand ambassadors.

Brand Director Kring Marquez and Coordinator Keith Medina officially announced the selection of swimming protegee Evenezir Polancos, Seb Rafael Santos, Saira Janelle Pabellon, Shinloah Yve San Diego and siblings  Albert Sermonia II and Jenn Albreicht  Sermonia.

 “We’re very happy and proud to be part of this six young swimmers dream to achieve their goal and success not just in swimming but in life. As partner, the TYR will providing them equipment, competition suit and training gear as well as support in their future international competitions,” said Marquez in the contract signing during Tabloids Organization in Philippine Sports, Inc, (TOPS) ‘Usapang Sports’ on Thursday at Behrouz Persian Cuisine in Quezon City.

 “As a brand na kilala sa quality and affordability, hinahanap namin sa aming mga ambassador na hindi lang mataas ang kalidad sa swimming but also sa kanilang character, school achievement and good relations with their peers. Dahil sa TYR brand hindi kayo mapapahiya,” added Marquez.

The six young swimmers come from different swimming club affiliated with the SLP formed by Joah Mojdeh, mother of swimming teen sensation and World Junior Championship veteran Jasmine Mojdeh. SLP mainstays Julia Basa of Behrouz Swimming Team and Martin Jacob Pupos, a member of the PH Team off to ASEAN University Game are both part of TYR program.

Saira Janelle Pabellon and Polancos came all the way from Kidapawan  to be part on the contract signing they considered as opportunity for them to grow further in the sports. The two were also classmates at the Gen. Santos High School.

“I’ll try my very best and to train hard to achieve my dream of breaking more junior national record. Salamat po sa TYR, sa aking coach at mga magulang  ko for guidance and support,” said  Saira, who owned a Batang Pinoy record in 200-m fly.

At 17-yrs, the UST varsity team mainstay Albert, is the oldest in the group. His younger sister Jenn, 14, is also ang Batang Pinoy product who is eyeing a slot in the Philippine Team for the Southeast Asian Age Group championship next year.

“Nagpapasalamat po ako at napili kaming magkapatid na mapasama na TYR Ambassador. Malaking bagay po ito para madagdagan yung suporta sa amin para mas makasali kami sa maraming tournaments,” stated Albert in the forum sponsored by the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC), Games and Amusements Board (GAB), Pagcor and Behrouz Persian Cuisine.

The 14-year old San Diego is one of 21 student-athlete scholar in swimming at the  National Academy in Sports (NAS) sa Clark City, while the 13-year old Seb is pride of Philippine Science High School.

“It’s a big lift for our young swimming career. As TYR ambassadors, hindi lang performance sa tournament ang kailangan naming bantayan pati na rin yung character namin lao na sa pakikipag-kapwa,” said San Diego.
