If you’re thinking of getting a new phone, something simple but delivers polished specs for an affordable price, then check out this Samsung A04s review.
This phone delivered quite well with everyday tasks, a bit of gaming and great photography. Be it for your work or for your kids who needs a dependable phone for studying and taking awesome memories, the Samsung A04s ticks all the right boxes.
Samsung A04s Build
You have your three camera lenses on the left back side, which has a glossy plastic back. You would think it is a magnet for fingerprints, but the wavy pattern helps to disguise said fingerprints.
You’ll find the sim and MicroSD card tray on the left side, the microphone up top.
The headphone jack is right below, next to the charging port and the speaker. Volume rocker and power button can be found on the right. This doubles as a fingerprint scanner, and while very responsive, it is prone to multiple attempts especially while in the bag or pocket, rendering it to be blocked at times.
Display, Performance and Battery
It has a pretty hefty storage capacity of 128GB Internal Storage and can be expanded by up to 1TB via microSD card. We also have 4 gigabytes of RAM which is also expandable up to 8GB. This one is running on an Octa core Exynos 850 chipset that can deliver a proper gaming experience and performance.
Another feature of this phone is its of 6.5″ HD + TFT and a resolution of 720 x 600. It has an impressive size of 164.7 x 76.7 x 9.1 mm and a weight of 195g.
The display is ideal for those who play mobile games or watching movies and tv series, as the screen is wide and the colors are sharp. The lightness of the unit also is great for long gaming, or those long hours on commute while bingewatching your favorite tv series or movies. You can also conserve battery as this has a headphone jack, which means no need for bluetooth if you have a preference for wired headphones.
The package also has a 5000mAh battery that can definitely last you for 1.5 to 2 days, depending on your use. You can use it for long zoom calls, an hour or two and it would have a bit of battery to spare too!
Camera Features and Sample Shots
An upgrade to the previous A04, this has a triple 50MP camera set up along with a 2megapixel depth and 2 megapixel macro lens.
You have a lot of modes to choose from, with Portrait Mode, Pro, Panorama, Food, and Macro with a natural bokeh effect. You can also edit photos with people and add that bokeh with the “Add Portrait effect” which you can find when you press the three dots upon checking the photo in the gallery.
Housed in the display’s notch is a 5-megapixel selfie camera featuring a bokeh effect. What the front camera lacks in megapixels, it makes up for with software processing as you still get great shots despite lowlight situations.
