Record field in Biazon Swim Cup

A record number of 1,200 swimmers have confirmed to participate in the 1st Mayor Ruffy Biazon Swim Cup slated December 3 at the newly built Muntinlupa Aquatic Center in Muntinlupa City.

The organizing Swim League Philippines (SLP) headed by President Fred Ancheta said the lists up have already reached the maximum numbers of entries (700) as early as last week but due to insisting demands from swim clubs and organizations and after consultation with the city administration the registration extends further.

Equipped with modern equipment under FINA world standard, the Muntinlupa Aquatic Center is expected to be the center of swimming competitions particularly from clubs based in the South. This early, Ancheta said a memorandum of agreement with the Office of the Mayor is expected to sign to make the Center the official home of the SLP swimmers and its affiliated clubs and organizations.

“We’re grateful with Mayor Ruffy Biazon for hosting this event. With the enthusiasm from swimmers, coaches, and parents to be part of this historic opening of the world-class swimming pool in Muntinlupa, the number of participants reached more than what we expected,” said Ancheta.

“To ensure the safety and security of all participants and maintain the integrity of the games, the SLP in collaboration with the Youth Affairs and Sports Development Office (YASDO) of Muntinlupa has decided to close the registration. Lagpas na sa kami sa target namin. Actually, history itong numbers na ito sa local swimming competition,” said Ancheta.

“Sa sobrang tuwa ni Mayor Ruffy Biazon he will host another event. Those who wish to compete and feel the Muntinlupa Aquatic Center experience, you may join The Holiday Swim Cup on December 10, 2022,” added Ancheta.

Registration in this mega year-ender event powered by the Central Northern Luzon CAR Swimming Coaches Association, Solid Coaches Association and the Swim League Philippines is now open.

SEA Games gold medalist Chloe Isleta and National junior record holder and National mainstay Jasmine ‘Water Beast’ Mojdeh and Jamesrey Ajido are invited to give inspirational messages to the young swimmers. The trio also led the Ceremonial Opening Swim of event as part of the celebration of the 105th Foundation Anniversary of the City of Muntinlupa.
