Amid the declaration of ECQ in the NCR Plus Bubble, Ramon S. Ang assured the public that San Miguel Corp. will continue to provide essential products and services during the one-week implementation of the quarantine in Metro Manila, Bulacan, Cavite, Laguna, and Rizal beginning on Monday, March 29.
“With the reintroduction of tighter measures to curb the rise in COVID-19 cases, let me share these with you,” wrote on Ang’s Facebook Page.
The statement also include continuous commitment to provide essential products and use of electric supply and expressways.
“First, we at San Miguel are fully prepared for ECQ. There will be no disruptions in providing essential products such as food and fuel. Our power facilities will also continue to provide stable electricity supply, and our expressways will remain operational.
Second, while our food donations for poor communities never really stopped since last year, we are again ramping up our food drive, through all Metro Manila LGUs. We have already started initial deliveries of over 148,000 packs of nutribun, and are also set to distribute 86,400 canned goods to benefit 17,280 families.
Third, we are making sure to take care not just of our employees but also those of our third-party contractors. I have asked our business units to coordinate with their respective service providers to ensure their employees are taken care of for the days they are not able to work.
We can turn this around but we need to work together. We all have a role to play. Makakaasa kayo ang San Miguel ay patuloy na tutulong na masugpo ang pandemyang ito para makabangon tayo ng sama-sama.”
