With the successful staging of the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) bubble last October 2020, this Freeport has once again been chosen to host the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) Asia Cup Qualifiers 2021 here.

For the second time around, the Quest Hotel and Conference Center has been tapped to become the official residence of FIBA players and delegates during their stay for the games on June 16 to June 20, 2021.

With over 300 rooms surrounded by mesmerizing views of Clark’s lush green spaces, Quest Hotel takes pride in giving the same world-class service that the PBA players have experienced last year.

The FIBA teams may still enjoy the same breathtaking scenery outside of their hotel rooms as well as indulge in the pool area for a complete relaxation during their free time.

They may also do their workout sessions in the fitness center inside the hotel – all exclusive for the comfort and safety of the players.

Aside from Quest’s first class amenities and features, the teams will be served sumptuous meals through a buffet setting laid out for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

The dishes – varying from appetizers, main courses, and desserts are guaranteed delectable and guilt-free choices prepared by Quest which also features local cuisines.

Apart from making sure that the players are well taken care of, stricter measures were also implemented to ensure the integrity of the bubble. Additional testing protocols are already in place to keep the bubble intact.

According to Clark Development Corporation (CDC) President and CEO Manuel R. Gaerlan, the experience brought by hosting the PBA bubble last year has greatly helped in improving the set-up of the FIBA bubble.

“First of all, the CDC together with the BCDA is already, I would say, a veteran on such a bubble event because of our experience in the PBA,” he said during a simultaneous press conference and arrival of FIBA teams and delegates at the Quest Hotel on Sunday.

Gaerlan also mentioned the advantage of Clark among other locations in hosting a bubble set-up for sporting events.

“Secondly, our amenities, as you see – Clark Freeport Zone (CFZ) has a very distinct advantage over all other venues. We are the preferred MICE destination and we have promoted Clark in the aspect of Sports Tourism. In the near future, we will be hosting more events such as this so organizers are also welcome to hold their events here in the CFZ,” he added.

Hailed as the ultimate Sports Destination for three years already, Clark is living up to its name and will continue to host more sporting events in the future.

This year, Clark will also stage the National Swimming Competition and the Asian Women’s Volleyball Competition in a full bubble format sometime in August 2021.
