In a statement released by members of Prosecutors’ League of Manila, the group publicly denounced the ‘despicable and cowardly act of murder’ of fellow colleague, Senior Assistant City Prosecutor Jovencio A. Senados, chief of the Inquest Division of the Office of the City Prosecutor of Manila, Regional Trial Court.
Senados was ambushed on broad daylight Tuesday morning July 7 along the stretch of Quirino Avenue in Paco, Manila. Senados died on the spot, based on the initial investigation.
Senados was on the passenger side of his car when a red Toyota Innova swerved from behind allowing a black Montero SUV to riddle bullets into the victim’s car.
Police investigators believe that high-powered firearms were used by still unidentified gunmen. Police recovered 7 empty shells inside Senados’ car.
The driver of Senados, who believed that the attack alwas planned, survived the shooting incident.
Department of Justice (DOJ) Secretary Menardo Guevarra condemns the brutal slaying of Senados. He ordered the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) to investigate the crime incident.
