It was jampacked and full of exciting discussions from cybersecurity to digitizing workforce in a remote work environment in world where pandemic is happening in our very eyes. The lobby was a giant virtual playground with different sponsors and exhibitors joining for this annual convention.
This year’s overall theme is “IMPACT” as the group aims to inspire attendees to adopt innovations and technologies for positive transformation.
PH Digicon, now on its sixth year, conducted on virtual event spaces for the first time from October 28 to 30, 2020 and is open to the public. PH Digicon 2020 have global industry mavens, thought leaders, and pioneers in technology congregate to push technological enablement among enterprises throughout the country and region.
One of the most awaited appearances was that of Gwyneth Paltrow—Academy Award–winning actress and founder and CEO of goop— who headlined as celebrity guest at the Philippine Digital Convention (PH Digicon 2020) hosted by PLDT Enterprise on Day 1.
Talking about her business venture, how it started and the struggles along her business journey, Gwyneth also shared how she found a silver lining amidst this pandemic. Speaking to Cathy Yang, currently PLDT Inc’s communications strategist and advisor to PLDT’s Top Management Team, the CEO of goop told during the fireside chat interview that she is having a great time staying at home with her kids, cooking, and everything, while not being on a plane every time.
Paltrow, besides being an actress, best-selling cookbook author, and singer, is also the founder and CEO of goop—a lifestyle brand devoted to helping women make their own choices count. Goop is curious about what it means to self-optimize, about how we can gain autonomy over our health, and how we can push uncomfortable, important questions forward without shame.
With its roots in content across six key pillars: wellness, travel, food, beauty, style, and work, goop curates and sells a tightly edited array of products, plus its own product lines, including skincare, fragrances, apparel, bath and body, and supplements. Additionally, goop now has a podcast, a book imprint, permanent and pop-up retail experiences, a live event series, and an original series with Netflix, The goop Lab. The series, which premiered in January 2020 with six episodes, has been renewed for a second season.
Paltrow has always been comfortable pushing important conversations into the mainstream. Her presence at the upcoming PH Digicon 2020 may very well be a game-changer for those seeking inspiration and digital solutions given the current global health crisis.
