THE Philippines Behrouz Elite Swimming Team (PH-BEST) is sending a 13-man delegation for the 17th Singapore National Swimming Championships 2022 set to start today (June 23) at the OCBC Aquatic Center in Singapore.

Veteran internationalist Jules Mirandilla, John Neil Paderes, and upcoming Julia Ysabelle Basa led the squad that vies for pride and honors against the best junior swimmers in the region.

Joining them are fellow Swim League Philippines (SLP) mainstays Amina Mondonedo, Zandro Carandang, Julian Louwers De Kam, Geoff Liberato, Arianna Carandang, Ashby Jayce Canlas, Paulo Liberato, Zahjeed Sarmiento, Patricia Liberato, and Peter Dean. Virgilo ‘Virgi’ De Luna is the head coach, while Marilet Salazar-Basa served as team manager.

The 15-year-old Basa, the Immaculate Heart of Mary College-Paranaque student, will anchor the team in the four-day meet. Coming off from a successful podium finish in the 10th Circle of Swimmers of Melun Val de Seine held in France last month, the Bataan City pride will see action in the 100m breaststroke, 100m butterfly, 200m backstroke, 200m butterfly, 400m IM, 400m freestyle and 200m IM.

“It’s going to be a tough one for our swimmers since they’ll be competing against some of the region’s best swimmers including from host Singapore. Special thanks to Mr. Jie Libunao of Allied Pharmaceuticals for the team’s uniform,” said Basa.
