“No police arrests, unless necessary,” says Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto

On the issue of OPLAN: KALINGA, Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto assured his constituents that local government unit (LGU) personnel of the city will be the ones who will visit patients house-to-house to fetch COVID-19 positive, asymptomatics, and with mild symptoms patients and will bring them to isolation or quarantine facilities in Pasig.

“There will be no police arrests,” assured Mayor Sotto during his live remarks on Presidential spokesperson Harry Roque, jr. Malacañang press briefing this afternoon, July 16 Thursday.

The mayor added that Pasigueños are strict in following protocols and it won’t be hard for the LGU to bring these patients to the facilities. However, unless there will be resistance, Sotto is obliged to ask for police assistance.

In related COVID-19 updates, Sotto also mentioned they added more beds to their facilities and health services. The only challenge that they see is human manpower.

Sotto also acknowledged the participation of Dahlia Hotel is housing 300 COVID-19 patients in Pasig City.
