Manileños can sleep well starting tonight without worries after City of Manila Mayor Isko Moreno got his first jab of COVID-19 Sinovac vaccine on Easter Sunday.

Just before lunch time, Yorme Isko went to the vaccination center, lined up, and got screened before the inoculation that was streamed live on Facebook.

The mayor is pleased to have been vaccinated after IATF have allowed the mayors to get their vaccine jabs, especially those in the hotspot high-risk areas specifically within the NCR Plus Bubble. The mayor himself is under the A4 category but were given the go-signal under the IATF ruling as of yesterday, according to him.

“Masaya ako at may proteksiyon na ako. Ang mabisang vaccine is the one that is in your arms,” said the mayor who then points to his left arm that got the jab.

“Ginagawa natin ito para mabawasan ang agam-agam ng mga tao and I chose Sinovacnto prove that it is safe,” added Yorme.

As of today, April 4, there are 41,692 Manileños who were vaccinated in two weeks time.

Vice Mayor Honey Lacuna administered Mayor Isko’s inoculation of Sinovac vaccine.

The mayor reminded the public to stay home as much as possible to prevent infection from the COVID-19 virus. “Kung gusto nyo na magka-COVID, lumabas kayo ng bahay,” he told everyone with a word of precaution.

April 3 COVID-19 cases were recorded at 12,576.
