INDANG, Cavite – The moment she shared the final run along with local stars and top foreign bets in the National Open last March, Jesylmay Licup proved she came a long way in the athletics sprint race.
All she had to do now was to convince the athletics officials that she deserved an invitation to the National pool. At the Reserved Officers Training Corps (ROTC) Games, the 19-year-old student from the University of Baguio let her performance do the talking.
Licup took the spotlight in the Philippine Army class showdown, winning the women’s century dash in 13.2 seconds for her second gold medal in the Regional Qualifying Luzon leg of the inaugural meet for student-cadet at the historic Cavite State University track oval.
