Co-chairman of the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) Karlo Nograles said on Monday that he is unsure if the Enhance Community Quarantine (ECQ) in NCR will last for only two weeks. NCR will be under ECQ starting from August 6 to 20 as prevention to the spread of COVID-19 Delta Variant.
“We also don’t know how long this ECQ will last. Right now, it’s just two weeks so far,” he said.
Nograles added that the extension of lockdown will depend on the number of COVID-19 cases as well as the progress of vaccine rollout.
“I-momonitor natin yung numbers, i-momonitor natin yung vaccination rollout, we’ll take it one day at a time but also be mindful about August 20,” Nograles said.
Meanwhile, during the implementation of ECQ in NCR, vaccination sites will still operate until nighttime to reach their target of 250,000 jabs daily.
