Zara Alvarez, activist and former political detainee, was gunned down in Bacolod City.
In April, Alvarez was questioned by a police officer under the suspicion of ‘recruting’ while distributing rice for her fellows.
Alvarez was walking home late Monday evening when she was riddled with five bullets by a lone gunman in Eroreco, Brgy. Mandalagan.
She was campaigning for justice for slain Negros farmers and lawyers.
The police blotter, however, from Police Station 3 chief, Capt. Richard Fajarito identified the victim as Sarah Rebuton, 30, of Cadiz City.
