Social distancing and wearing of face masks is still mandatory under the general community quarantine protocol.
This helpful reminder about the GCQ guidelines is related to the upcoming quarantine transition effective June 1.
There are many questions that our fellowmen, particularly in NCR and Metro Manila areas, would like to know as they prepare for the transition.
A general community quarantine is recommended for and implemented only in moderate and low risk areas based on the number of COVID-19 cases and health standards reported by its LGUs.
Only industries, establishments, and work offices that are essential to basic needs and supplies are allowed to open and operate under GCQ.
Only authorized persons outside residence (APOR) under the 21-60 year old age bracket are allowed to leave their homes should they need to buy essential items or needed to report to their work places that are allowed under the GCQ protocol.
Persons who are sick or having immunodeficiency, comorbidity, and pregnant women are prohibited from going out, as well as the persons living with them in their residences

Government offices are advised to operate in full capacity or under these circumstances: work-from-home; skeleton forces; compressed work weeks; amd staggered working hours.
Hotels and related to hospitality business are not allowed to open, except for those who are giving accomodations to returning OFWs undergoing 14-day quarantine; guests with long-term booking; repatriated or stranded OFWs and foreign visitors; health workers, frontliners, and other employees allowed in the GCQ guidelines.
Activities and gatherings
Non-essential and non-authorized activities and gatherings are prohibited under GCQ. Activities related to entertainment and religious congregations are also prohibited.
Education and learning
Physical and face-to-face classes are suspended during the period of GCQ.
Public transport by land, sea, and air may operate only in limited capacity. Strict implementation of physical and safe distancing will be enforced to protect the safety of the passengers.
Malls and shopping centers
Malls and shopping centers will be allowed to operate at 50% limited movement capacity. All public and private constructios are allowed to continue its operations.

Travel and quarantine pass
Travel or quarantine pass might be needed to present if a person will have to go outside the boundary of the LGUs jurisdiction. At the same tine, the vehicle number coding scheme will return on June 1 but with slight modification, according to a news advisory from the MMDA.

MMDA Gen. Manager Jojo Garcia told the preas today that number coding scheme will take effect this time of general community quarantine. But there will be a condition.
Garcia explained that private vehicles can travel even on their coding days as long as they have passengers traveling with them. In short, Garcia is encouraging car owners to carpool with their family, friends, or co-workers to help ease out the problems in commuting.
Public vehicles like UV express vans will be allowed as long as they have permits to travel and are given a green light by city health officials.
Travel pass may be requested in your barangay and will have to fill-up form to validate your request to travel.
Checkpoints and curfews will continue, according to Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque.
The public are advised to continue practicing handwashing for 20 seconds to make sure that microbes are scrubbed and washed off from hands.
