Mitra expressed his gratitude for the positive response of several leagues amid the pandemic in acknowledging the work of GAB as the sole regulatory body in professional sports, likewise, on their decision to turn their leagues under the supervision and regulation of the government.

During the past six months, leagues such as the National Basketball League (NBL), Women’s National Basketball League (WNBL), Chooks-to-Go 3×3, Professional Chess Association of the Philippines (PCAP) and Premier Volleyball League (PVL) turned professionals.

Mitra said the Beach Volleyball Republic also expressed its intention to turn pro next year as the league opens its third season on January.
