Former President Fidel Valdez Ramos died Sunday afternoon at the Makati Medical Center of COVID-19 complications, according to reports.
He was 94.
Popularly known as FVR and Eddie Ramos, he was a Filipino general and politician who served as the 12th President of the Republic of the Philippines from 1992 to 1998. He was credited with restoring investor confidence in the country. During his tenure, the Philippines was recognized as a burgeoning ‘tiger economy.’
