Former Ginebra role player Ed Ducut needs help

By Brian Yalung

FORMER Ginebra role player Eduardo “Ed” Ducut suffered from a stroke last Sept. 2 in Pampanga.

According to his son, Eduardo III, his father was driving at the time.

In a clinical abstract from Floridablanca Doctors Hospital, Ducut vomitted and then lost consciousness. He was immediately brought to the emergency room and subsequently admitted. He had high blood pressure at the time, 220/110.

The former Ginebra and Shell player has already returned home but needs oxygen support. The family of Ducut managed to find ways to raise money, settling the former cager’s medical bill which cost roughly P200,000.

Ducut’s son said that his father had a history of high blood but was not taking any kind of maintenance.

“Wala naman pong maintenance si papa. Mataas po BP niya. Meron po (history of high blood). Sinasabi lang po niya wala pero may nararamdaman po siya. Sila lola pop kasi high blood,” Ducut’s son said.

When asked on the state of his father, Eduardo III said that his father is having a hard time speaking. He added that though his dad is unable to talk, his father is able to respond through nodding.

“Tumatango lang po siya kasi may butas lalamunan niya kaya di po siya makapagsalita. Tumatango naman siya pag kinakausap,” Eduardo III said.

The family of Ducut is seeking help to help in their finances, particularly the future medication of the 63-year-old former PBA player.

For those who would want to help the Ducut family, financial aid can be sent through his eldest son via Security Bank.
