Filipinas football champion in Malacanang red carpet

AFTER a historic feat at the ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) Women’s Football Championship, President Ferdinand ‘BongBong’ R. Marcos, Jr. conveys his warmest congratulations to the members and officials of the Philippine Women’s National Football Team in a courtesy call on Wednesday at the President’s Hall in Malacañan Palace.

During his remarks, President Marcos Jr. expresses his gratitude to the football team for becoming a national pride and bringing a crowning achievement to the country’s sports industry.

He lauds the team’s efforts and years of sacrifices poured into the athletes’ rigorous training program that paved the way for their championship aspirations. The Football Team dubbed the Filipinas, secured the country’s first ever AFF Women’s Football Championship title in a 3-0 match against Thailand on July 17 at the Rizal Memorial Stadium.

“This triumph is the greatest gift that you have given to your country. We thank and congratulate you on this hard-earned and historic achievement. We look forward to seeing Team Filipinas in next year’s FIFA Women’s World Cup!” said Marcos

The Filipinas were accompanied by Philippine Football Federation (PFF) President Mariano Araneta Jr., Secretary General Atty. Edwin Gastanes, and PSC Executive Dir. and Officer-in-Charge Atty. Guillermo Iroy Jr.,
