In what could be just a simple post of expressing his kindness to other COVID-19 patients, DENR Undersecretary Benny Antiporda (himself infected with the virus) was roasted on social media because of the content of his Facebook status on April 7.
The post was met with mixed reactions and many of it were unfavorable to Antiporda. A number of netizens find the post distasteful and were disgusted of him ‘showing off his influence’ he can use in hospitals.
In his post, Antiporda wrote that he and his wife chose to stay at home to be treated and instead gave up their hospital room slot to a friend (from the media), whose mom needs immediate medical attention.
He said he has a room in Capitol Medical Hospital and he believes that he has a lot of friends he can seek for help, who will never ‘say no’ to him.
However, his ‘act of kindness’ did not go well, in favor with the netizens.
