The cause of death of flight attendant Christine Angelica Dacera, who died on January 1, 2021, caused spark and heated arguments on social media which puts the credibility of the investigating authorities and medical experts in question. The initial medico legal report contradicts the statement of the Philippine National Police (PNP) which reported the case as rape with homicide based on their scene of the crime investigation.

According to the PNP’s initial findings, they found semen trace on the victim’s body and bruises that lead to the rape-slay angle. But their findings doesn’t match with what the autopsy report has previously indicated.

Based on the autopsy report, there were no mention of semen or sexual activity that may transpired during the time of the incident that will put a strong evidence for a rape-slay case. Its medico legal result showed that the victim died of ‘ruptured aortic aneurysm.’

“I think there is not enough evidence here for someone to make a conclusion. I think this is an inconclusive report. Anyway, it’s just two-pages long, it’s far from complete. As far as where they should be concern, what’s the cause of death? I don’t know. What’s the manner of death? I don’t know. In a case like this where admittedly, nag-iinuman, and so on, It’s only points to intoxication. But what kind of intoxication? Dapat diyan toxicology. More than pathology, actually they go hand-in-hand, kase pathology would rule out a lot of things but toxicology you can put a finger on what was in the system, anong nainom niya, anong andun may interaction ba, and so on and was it enough to cause death,” shared forensic pathologist Dr. Raquel Fortun to Raffy Tulfo during the Wanted sa Radyo (Raffy Tulfo In Action) program last January 6.

Dacera was found unconscious in a hotel’s bathtub in the morning of January 1 after celebrating New Year’s yearend party with friends. The victim was declared dead on arrival in the hospital.

Tulfo invited Dr. Fortun on his program to shed light about the case of death of Dacera with regards to the medico legal result.

The body of Christine was submitted to a second autopsy in the ongoing probe to determine the cause of the flight attendant’s death on New Year’s Day.

Dr. Marichi Ramos, the victim’s family friend, confirmed this to reporters on Thursday morning before she joined Dacera’s family members at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 2 for their flight to the southern Philippines.

Ramos says Dacera’s family leaves to the PNP the investigation on the flight attendants death.
