The hybrid Batang Pinoy is set December 17 to 22 with at least 5,000 athletes, coaches, officials and chaperons from nine sports are expected to participate in the five-day event and eventually turns into local tourists.

Malaking bagay po ito sa amin because through sports, makikila na naman po ang Ilocos Sur and hopefully mabubuhay uli ang aming economy through sports,” said Singson during media conference on Thursday at the PSC Conference Room inside the Rizal Memorial Sports Complex (RMSC).

“It’s an honor and with great pride to host the Batang Pinoy and the Province of Ilocos Sur is very excited when I announce that finally we will host the event,” added Singson.

“Pinaghandaan po namin ito, magkita-kita po tayo kahit hanggang Bagong Taon doon na po tayo magstay,” added Singson in jest.
