NO more delays on athletes’ allowances and services.

Thus, said newly appointed Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) Chairman Richard ‘Dickie’ Bachmann as he vowed to cut the bureaucracy in the country’s leading sports agency.

“No delays on the financial support that the PSC provides for the athletes,” said Bachmann to PSC personnel gathered on Tuesday’s flag-raising ceremony at the Rizal Memorial Coliseum.

“Yan ang pinaka-urgent na bagay para matulungan natin sila. If there is any delay of allowances of any athlete, paki delay din yung akin. Include my salary also. Give me the names of those athletes, give me the names of the NSAs, ako na yung maghahabol. Because, when I say that there is no delay in allowances, I’m going to make it happen,” stressed Bachmann.

Bachmann, who took his oath as PSC 12th Chairman last week, also announced his plan with the approval of the member of the Board, to return the free meals for the members of the Philippine Team, including the training pool.

Likewise, he encouraged the PSC workforce to come to his office and personally relay any information and suggestions to make the agency better and efficient.

“I work best when I am on the ground – talking & listening to people I am supposed to serve,” said Bachmann, adding “I would rather go directly to the athlete, and I also encourage our commissioners to do the same.”

“Kayo rin (employees) ay mga MVPs, because of the work you do to support our athletes. I want to assure everyone that I am here to be of service. Period. No personal agenda. I am here to serve our national athletes, the NSAs, and the PSC organization.” said Bachmann, who was later greeted as he celebrates his 54th birthday on Wednesday (Jan. 11).

Bachmann was joined by Commissioners Olivia ‘Bong’ Coo, Cebuano sportsman Edward Hayco and Olympian and SEA Games four-gold medal winner Warren Francis ‘Wawit’ Torres, who both appointed concurrent with Bachmann, in the flag-raising before proceeding to Board meeting.
