Authorities arrested four suspects involved in the ‘bank electronic money heist’ in December

Two Nigerians were arrested by the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) personnel in Pampanga during a follow-investigation and entrapment operation that led to the capture of the suspects who are involved in the BDO ‘electronic money heist’ last December 2021.

In the news reported by 24 Oras, the suspects are involved in the hacking incidents affecting 700 bank customers of BDO.

According to NBI Chief Vic Lorenzo of the Cybercrime Division, the foreigners are the one who synchronize the movement of the group and are responsible in falsifying the documents of their victims.

In a separate operations, the NBI Cybercrime Division team arrested in Pasig and Manila, two more suspects who are responsible in the ‘downloading’ of the victims’ money and developing of programs that can attack and hack the bank system.

BDO hasn’t release their statement with regards to the arrest of these suspects.
